Service Bulletin #065: Changes to Twitter's API

Originally published on 2/11/2023

This service bulletin provides important information to agencies utilizing the Twitter API for InfoPoint.

Changes to Twitter's API

On February 2nd, Twitter announced that it would stop supporting free access to the Twitter API and implement a pay-to-use policy. This change will prevent customers from automatically publishing Twitter messages from the myAvail ETMS application. See Twitter's announcement here.

Twitter has not been clear about the details of this change, including when it will go into effect. If your agency utilizes the Twitter API for InfoPoint and is interested in paying for this integration fee imposed by Twitter, please reach out to your Avail account manager for more information. We are committed to our partners' success and will assist you and your agency throughout this API change.

Update

We have postponed integrating with Twitter until further notice.

Thanks for partnering with Avail. We look forward to better serving you!
