With the introduction of the OptiBus OPS integration, the Operator Assignment and Vehicle Assignment tabs in myAvail Operations are no longer used. Operator and vehicle assignments are now managed directly within OptiBus OPS and automatically synchronized with myAvail in real time.
Overview
This integration provides a real-time connection between myAvail Operations and OptiBus OPS. Dispatchers perform all operator-to-run and vehicle-to-run assignments within OptiBus OPS. myAvail then retrieves and displays these assignments in the Pullout Management tab within myAvail Operations.
How It Works
- Dispatchers assign Operators and Vehicles to Runs/Blocks in OptiBus OPS.
- At the start of the service day, myAvail imports all operator and vehicle assignments from OptiBus for that day’s service.
- myAvail continues to monitor OptiBus throughout the service day and automatically processes real-time assignment updates.
- Imported assignments are displayed in the Pullout Management tab in myAvail Operations.
MDT Logon Validation
The imported assignments are used to enforce MDT logon validation:
- For a successful logon, the Operator, Vehicle, and Run combination must match the assignment information received from OptiBus.
- If an operator attempts to log in on an incorrect vehicle or against an incorrect Run ID, the logon is blocked on the CAD side.
- This validation ensures operators are signed into the correct vehicle and run as scheduled.
What’s New
This functionality represents a new third-party integration that eliminates the need for manual data entry in myAvail Operations.
Previously:
- Operator and vehicle assignments had to be entered manually in OptiBus.
- The same assignments then had to be manually recreated in myAvail.
- Until an operator logged in or a dispatcher updated the information, assignments appeared as Unassigned in the Pullout tab.
With the OptiBus OPS integration:
- Assignments are automatically imported and kept in sync.
- The Pullout Management tab always reflects the latest operator and vehicle assignments.
- Manual duplication of data entry is no longer required.
