Common Controls & Manual Functions - Dispatch Operations

This article describes common controls used in Operations, which provides the ability to customize the dispatch Operations screen view.

IMPORTANT: The article also includes how to use manual functions for logging operators onto the MDT (from the dispatch backend office) and off the MDT. Login and log off are required for vehicle operators, as this process begins data capture in the system. There are cases when dispatch will need to support logins. Technical issues, etc., may prevent login from time to time. If this is a consistent issues, please report it to your maintenance team for troubleshooting. No resolution? Important Manual Dispatch Functions

As mentioned above, login and log off the MDT (mobile data terminal) are both required for data capture against the digital schedule.  Data capture is used for several reporting areas. Logged in vehicles display live! on myStop trips planning tools for ridership, and for dispatch monitoring purposes on Live Map, Route Ladder, and on the Operations map. Dispatch should use the manual tools available to log operators on and off the MDT, for rare cases when issues arise that prevent an operator from completing this required process independently.

When vehicles are not logged into revenue service the bus bubble on the maps will be 'greyed out', to inform dispatch of this need. Below are the buttons found in the concealable toolbar. Dispatch should use these for logging vehicles in, logging vehicles out, and to reset a vehicle, so it's available quickly for other pieces of work.
