The TSI NexView software includes a 'live look in' feature, if configured for your agency. Use this function sparingly to monitor vehicle activity live and discretely for emergency and other notable, high- priority situations. When vehicles connect to use the 'Live Look in' feature via cellular data, they require higher data usage, meaning associated charges for your cell plan will be increased significantly.
How it Works - Wi-Fi
When vehicles are in the yard or garage area, this means that the HVR and the Digi modem are connected and will send and receive information via your local network, which is your Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi connections are used to send and receive larger file types. You can view vehicle data using the Wi-Fi connection when vehicles are connected via Wi-Fi.
How it Works - Cellular
When vehicles are away from the yard/ garage, they revert to using cellular data to send and receive information on demand. Cellular data is not used for larger file types. Any larger files scheduled for the vehicle will be received when the vehicle is back in Wi-Fi range. You can connect to these vehicles and use the 'Live Look in' feature using the cellular connection.
How to Use Live Look In
- Login to your NexView software (installed on your computer)
TIP: Ensure staff who need access have it (Personnel Accounts). - Navigate to the ‘Video Playback’ tab
- Select the ‘Live’ tab
- Chose a vehicle that is connected via cellular data (left-side menu) - if the vehicle is in service away from the garage/yard area
- Or connect to a vehicle that is in the garage/yard using your local (Wi-Fi) connection
- Select ‘Connect to vehicle ###’
- Choose the camera angle preferred in the ‘View’ menu which displays after selecting the vehicle
- You may choose multiple camera angles but please note this will increase cell data usage and cost
- There are three setting for the camera’s resolution (low, medium, high)
- It is recommended that you use the default 'low resolution' setting, as this uses less cell data, meaning a lesser cost for your cell plan
- Press the ‘Disconnect’ button when done
